I’m writing you from the comforts of the house I grew up in.
We’ve had a little break from the holiday markets to do a few other things lately. Website is getting some new product photos (as you can see!). I was busy making fresh batches of lip balms and coconut oil deodorants last week to bring a few supplies with me on my trip to my homeland in Alberta for an extended weekend. So far, I’ve gotten in a couple quick visits with friends, scouted out the Make It Edmonton craft fair to chat with some new people and see what vendors are offering here and we celebrated my Mom’s birthday. My aunt’s family is dealing with the recent news of breast cancer in her family and it really makes you think about the choices we are making. She snapped up all the natural coconut oil deodorants I brought with me to give to her sisters and nieces for Christmas. The convenience of the drug store deodorants and anti-perspirants we have been used to are great until you find out what’s in them and start questioning what those chemicals can potentially do to your body. You can find evidence and studies to support any belief on the spectrum. I’m the type to err on the side of caution and I’d rather sweat a little and trust that what I put on my pits is natural and good for me in the long run.
Now to change topics.
It’s going to be a busy week once I touch back down on the green grass of Victoria. We’ll hopefully see some of you out at the University of Victoria’s Winter Artisan Market this Tuesday, December 1st. If not, we’ll have a couple more things to report for the weekend!
